This page explains the nature of the content on cebilaw.com and what you need to know when using the site.
The content is for general information
The articles, practice area descriptions and other content on the site have been prepared for general information purposes. They are not a legal opinion and do not replace advice on a specific matter.
The circumstances of every case are different. Before taking any action or waiving any right on the basis of information on the site, you should obtain legal advice on your specific situation. We accept no liability for the consequences of actions taken on the basis of the general information on the site.
Publications and how current they are
The articles in the Publications section were prepared on the basis of the legislation and court decisions as of their publication dates. The publication date of each article is shown at the top of the article, below the authors' names.
Later amendments to the law and new decisions may not be reflected in the articles. The articles reflect the views of their authors and were previously published on Hukuki Haber.
Attorney-client relationship
Visiting the site, sending us an email, calling us or writing to us on WhatsApp does not create an attorney-client relationship.
This relationship is established when we agree in writing on the scope of the work and the fee. Until then, we do not act on your behalf and do not undertake to monitor deadlines.
If we have acted as attorney for, or given an opinion to, a party with opposing interests in the same matter, we cannot accept that matter (Attorneyship Law, Art. 38); we therefore check for this before accepting any matter. Whether to accept a matter offered to us is at our discretion (Professional Rules of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations [TBB], Art. 38).
Deadlines
Time limits for filing suit, objections and applications, as well as limitation periods, continue to run. Writing to us does not suspend or interrupt these periods.
Sharing documents and information
When you write to us, it is enough to describe the matter in a few sentences. Send your documents after we have informed you in writing of the fee and scope of the preliminary review. The steps are set out on the Payment page.
Even if we do not take on your case, we keep confidential the information we learn through your inquiry (Attorneyship Law, Art. 36; TBB Professional Rules, Art. 37).
Email and WhatsApp messages pass through the infrastructure of the companies that provide these services. We explain how we process your personal data in the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
Intellectual property
The articles, photographs and design on the site are protected under the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works to the extent that they qualify as works. The rights in this content belong to their authors, to our firm or to the relevant right holders.
The articles may be quoted to the extent permitted by law, provided that the author's name and the source page are cited. The content may not be reproduced, modified, published or used for commercial purposes, in whole or in substantial part, without permission.
Museum of the Legal Profession
The documents and photographs on the Museum pages are archival material on the history of the profession. If you see information about you or a relative in a document, you can write to info@cebilaw.com.
